On September 29, 2006 at the Central Scientific Library of ANAS (SCL) for the first time in our Republic a traditional and virtual book exhibition on the theme of “Yesterday, today and tomorrow of Azerbaijan Oil” was held. Opening the measure the Director of SCL, PhD on Philology Sciences Aybaniz Aliyeva-Kangarli informed about the historical way of Azerbaijan Oil during 150 years. Only at the end of the XX century after gaining independence Azerbaijan have got a chance to use this wealth. It was realized by World-wide leader Heydar Aliyev. PhD on also noted the role of libraries in enlightenment of people and their provision with information. Today libraries fulfill their universal functions. Our duty is to acquaint all people yesterday, today and tomorrow of Azerbaijan Oil and application hundreds of literature for readers in oil field. More than 1000 oil literature have been demonstrated there. Publications reflected the history of Azerbaijan oil, its development, contract of century and next contracts, information about Baku-Tbilisi-Jeyhan oil pipe-line, hundreds of scientific investigations and others were demonstrated there, too. Readers were informed about Azerbaijan oil contracts, oil and environment, oil in origin, high education institutions of oil specialty, leading scientific-research institutes and non-academy institutes on oil. Participants have been interested with periodic press materials. At the end all book have been exhibited virtually and the film expressing the history of Azerbaijan oil was demonstrated, too.
